Shipping policy
Due to the significant impact of recent U.S. tariffs on our American customers, we have temporarily paused all shipments to the USA. We remain hopeful that these import policy changes will be amended or reversed in the near future and look forward to resuming service to the USA at that point.
We are currently shipping orders with both UPS and Canada Post depending on the delivery destination. Our default shipping option requires a signature upon delivery, however you may opt for "no signature" at checkout if preferred. Please note that Au Lit cannot be held responsible in the event of loss or theft when the signature is oped out of.
We are pleased to offer free shipping on orders subtotalling $100, with the exclusion of furniture & lighting. Delivery fees for furniture/lighting purchases will be quoted & charged based on the delivery destination & service.
Shipping is available only within Canada. Free standard shipping will automatically be applied in the cart if your qualifying purchase is over $100 CAD before taxes.
Orders will typically ship within 1-3 business days, provided all items are in stock. You will be notified as soon as your order has shipped out, and given a tracking number. If we need to custom order anything for you, we will let you know our earliest delivery time. Arrival times vary depending on your shipping location. A signature is required for delivery of all shipments, unless otherwise specified at checkout. If no-one is available to provide a signature and accept the parcel, the shipping carrier may bring the parcel to a post office or access point for collection at your convenience.
CANADIAN ORDERS
Canadian customers are subject to pay all applicable taxes upon completion of their order. Orders are shipped via UPS or Canada Post unless otherwise specified and no additional fees will be due upon delivery.
U.S. ORDERS

PICK UP IN STORE
If you choose to pick up your items in store, an email notification will be sent to you when your order is ready. To select this option, you must input a billing and shipping address during checkout, but on the following page of the checkout, you will be able to select 'Pick up in store' as the shipping method. Please note that it must be the purchaser picking up the order, and they must provide the following upon collection of the order:
- A copy of the order invoice
- Photo ID matching the provided billing details
- The credit card used to complete the purchase
Please note that all online Pickup In Store orders will now be handled from our new location at 147 Tycos Drive, Toronto.
REGISTRY AND WISHLIST ORDERS
If you are making a purchase from a registry or wish list, please make sure the purchase is made through the giftees official Au Lit registry link. We will reach out following completion of the order to arrange for delivery or pick-up dependent on the preference of the purchaser and registrant.
SALES TAXES
Sales tax will be applied automatically during the checkout process for domestic shipments. Taxes are based on the province the items are being shipped to. No additional taxes or fees will be due upon delivery within Canada.
LOST PARCELS
While we typically find UPS & Canada Post to be quite reliable, every now and then there is a delivery issue beyond our control. In the event that your tracking indicates delivery but your order has not been received or it otherwise appears lost in transit, please alert us ASAP so we can initiate an investigation with the shipping carrier.
We are always happy to resolve these rare instances when reported to us within 30 days of initially expected delivery. Please note that we are unable to refund or replace an order until the investigation with the shipping carrier is completed, which is typically within 1-2 weeks. You can rest assured that if the parcel cannot be located and is deemed officially lost, we will be sure to replace or refund the order for you at that point. If a seemingly lost parcel is not reported to us within 30 days, we may no longer be able to initiate a claim for reimbursement with the shipping carrier.
RETURN-TO-SENDER
Please note that if you provide the wrong shipping address, refuse delivery of your order, or fail to collect it from a pick-up point and it is subsequently returned-to-sender, our initial cost to ship will be deducted from the refund. For return-to-senders resulting from carrier error, we will of course arrange refund or re-shipment upon receipt back. We are unable to proceed with a refund or replacement on any return-to-sender until it has been received back at our facility.
